Bike & Go announce search for Edinburgh’s chic cyclists

From Gigi Hadid to Leonardo DiCaprio, the world’s best-dressed celebrities are not averse to showcasing their style credentials on two wheels.

And now leading hire scheme Bike & Go, which offers bike hire facilities from a number of Scottish locations, including Haymarket train station, is launching the search for the UK’s most stylish cyclist – that person who looks as effortlessly chic on two wheels as they do on two feet.

Simply take a selfie, or ask a friend to do it for you, of yourself on your bike in your most stylish cycling outfit and tweet it to @UKBikeandGo using the hashtag #ChicCyclist.

Bike & Go’s judges, which include cycling enthusiast Linda van der Haar, who has brought her own cycle chic dress code from the Netherlands to the UK, will announce the winner via Twitter on September 14, National Cycle to Work Day.

The winner, who may be male or female, will cycle away with £250 worth of Love to Shop vouchers, which can be redeemed at a wide range of UK stores and attractions.

Linda, who is also Bike & Go’s Business Manager, said: “Cycling is not only a great way to get some exercise and enjoy the fresh air, it’s also a really practical way of getting from A to B. We’ve seen a growing wave of stylish cyclists posting selfies of themselves, but we’re hoping that this competition will give us the chance to root out even more biking fashionistas.”

To hire a Bike & Go bike, users simply need to register their card details online, which they can do via smart phones, tablets, or at home, and pay the annual subscription fee. They will then receive a user number via email which will allow immediate bike hire whilst they wait for their Bike & Go membership card.
