At a set of lights, cyclist moves off with the green light in the right lane (and correct lane for where she was going), white van comes from behind in left lane, partly over takes then decides to try and move into the right lane. Bad driving not helped by bad infrastructural make our roads hostile, it doesn’t have to be this way. Join us on the next Pedal on Parliament to call for change!
Why is she in the right hand lane? Its evident that she is going straight on. She should ride on the left and wear a helmet!
She is in the right hand lane as the left hand lane is for left turns only and the right lane is for going straight ahead. The van driver was trying to barge her out of the way to get to a red traffic signal 2 seconds earlier, which is pointless. How would wearing a helmet change anything? The problem is one of bad driving, this should be unacceptable in a civilised country.
